Waiting

A poem by Deniece Grace Foo... Copied with permission.

The most painful form of torture is not physical torture, but emotional torture.

Have you heard somebody tell you to "wait" when you ask them a question?
Have you ever heard God say "wait"?
What goes through your mind when you are asked to "wait"?

Time comes to a standstill
Two hours seem like forever
You look at the clock
a minute passed since you looked at it the last time

Absence makes the heart grow fonder
But too much absence makes the heart wander

Your mind thinks of all the possible combinations
of the answer that will come eventually
Your heart pulls in opposing directions
to prepare yourself to hope for the best and expect the worst
You try to be rational
But a split second later, confusion confuses you
You talk to yourself in positivity
But you're never able to fight off the lingering others
You distract yourself
But while trying to do so, your subconciousness becomes your distraction

There's no end to "waiting"
You can't see the light at the end of the tunnel
You've given all you've got
But nothing changes

Well, I agree with what she wrote & understands the agony of waiting. But thanks be to God, I feel this unspeakable joy within me ever since last night. A joy I will carry with me as I wait for God's next big move. ;)

Deniece, press on!!! God answers at the most appropriate time. Let Him speak & let His peace & joy flood your heart. Press on!

On 4:14 pm, Cheryl lays it all at the feet of Jesus.
