Day 3: The Great Farce

"Martin Luther said: God uses lust to impel man to marriage, ambition to office, greed to earning, and fear to faith."

"Self-interest dies hard. Even in the midst of leading worship, preaching sermons, teaching the Bible, leading prayer, mentoring others, or going on missions, we can be promoting and pleasing ourselves rather than God. Fasting pleases God, only when it is accompanied by heart change, character transformation."

How true can this be, although it may seem very subtle. I remembered a pastor was saying, I think it's Pastor Andrew Khoo, that when you look nice in a photograph, it means it's a nice picture. In other words, we look at & am concern with ourselves than with others. What we choose to do connotes some kind of, self-interest. We do it for the profit of ourselves. How selfish. I was, just, reminded of how I could messages him, in hopes that he will reply, to satisfy my misses for him. You get the picture I painted? Little things & we are doing it FOR OURSELVES.

Pray: "LORD JESUS, I confess that I have been absorbed with myself and my wants. I have made You into my personal god of favour and fortune, with little(or no) concern for others. I am deeply sorry. Let Your Word pierce my heart.Help me to live a life that truly pleases You. In Your Name, amen."

God convicted me once again. In fact, I thank God for it. Father I pray I'd be reminded of what You said. I will put what I learnt into actions. In Jesus' name. Amen!

On 11:19 pm, Cheryl lays it all at the feet of Jesus.
