Lesson learnt in Biblical Worship class

Today marks the first lesson of Biblical Worship class & I am really thankful I learnt something important: "Are we worshipping God because of the surroundings or because of who God is?"

Let me give you an analogy. One may be singing, clapping, jumping & praising God loudly but he is not worshipping God. Another person may be standing still & staring at the lyrics but in fact, he is worshipping God. How come, you may ask. Worship comes from the heart. As long as worship comes from your heart, you can be not dancing & jumping, & yet worship God. I came to realise that worship is between God & individual, as long as we worship God with all our heart, our mind & our strength. We don't have to bother what others may think of us as we worship God. It is based on our relationship with God that is reflected through our worship.

As a worship leader, I came to realise that if I don't see the congregation lifting their hands or on their knees doesn't mean they are not ministered by God. Similarly, seeing people crying doesn't mean God's presence touched them. People may be crying because of their guilt or suffering.

Hence, we are individually accountable for our worship to God. Nobody can tell us what is right or wrong & force us to do the things they thought is right.

Thank You Lord for guiding me to this revelation. I pray that whoever reads this will worship You with all their heart, all their mind & all their strength, & in spirit & in truth. I pray for a stronger relationship with You for every individual who reads this. I pray that You guide us to read Your word daily & reveal to us Your word in a special way for that is the way to built a stronger relationship with You. All I ask in Jesus' name. Amen!
