Jesus: My Holy Big Brother
I was doing my quiet time last night when the Lord reminded me that we are children of God, making us siblings of Jesus Christ! Then I start calling Jesus my Big Brother.Reminded some church friends too, asking them to ponder over it. One of them replied he/she have not come across that in the bible before. So he/she's a bit hesitant to call Jesus 'Brother'. Then again, I reminded him/her we are co-heirs with Christ, like what Paul said below.
Romans 8:16-17
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
I believe Christ desires intimacy with us, like our intimacy with God, isn't it? We have the freedom to call God 'Daddy'; 'Father', then why not calling Christ 'Big Brother'?
I'd love to hear your opinion, especially if it's from God. ;)
